Self Certified Mortgages
What is a Self Cert Mortgage?
A self certified mortgage allows borrowers to declare their own
income on the application without having to make available the evidence
that is normally required when applying for a mortgage. Instead
of supplying the mortgage lender with bank statements, accounts
or any other proof of income the lender will usually do a credit
check and credit score on the applicant.Usually rates are higher
than a standard full status mortgages.
Self cert mortgages are often favored by borrowers who are self
employed or anyone who finds it difficult to prove their income,
for example varying incomes or commission based incomes. However
many find it hard to get a self certified mortgage through a high
street bank or building society. We have worked to form close relationships
with specialist lenders who can borrower with a self cert mortgage.
